The broad mission of YEDP is to promote, facilitate, and advocate for positive human development to protect families and young people of low income and empower refugees, immigrants, and the most vulnerable by providing education, access to healthcare, and other opportunities for young people to organize and engage with one another around sports, music, and other types of arts.
The mission of YEPD-Florida is specifically to advocate for and empower refugees and immigrants of African origins to integrate and successfully access healthcare and other services while creating other educational and community opportunities to strengthen families by working across generations.
Our vision is for justice and peace for women and young people so that they are free to work, to learn, and to make their own choices about their health and lives. We wish that these benefits be rewarded equally, for people to be able to organize themselves and represent their own needs, and to work free from harassment while having the opportunity to achieve positions of responsibilities and leadership.
